WHY WORRY!?
It is very alarming at the rate at which people now end their lives in one way or the other.At the expense of this, I realize most of this people who ends their lives, is filled with worry. Yes Worry
WHAT IS WORRY?
Worry is the feeling of uneasiness, tormenting oneself with disturbing thoughts.The Webster Third New Dictionary define Worry as "to feel Or experience disquietude or anxiety and To fret.
It goes on to define Fret as a rancorous eating Or gwanig at Or a continuing vexing which leaves one with NO PEACE. While it breaks down anxiety to be a mental distress or agitation resulting from worry usually for something impended Or anticipated.
Worry is said to be derieved from an Anglo Saxon word which means "To Choke".Which Implies that when we Worry to much we choke our life,We choke our Destiny and all positivity in our life.Because when we worry we see things from the negative side of Issues, the obstacles of the situation, whereas the solution Is right there but we are too worried to see or we fear It might not work, little wonder when Robert Albert Bloch defines worry has "A small tickle of fear meandor through the mind until It cut the channel into which all thoughts are drained".
WHY DO WE WORRY???
According to study documented by Earl Nightingale it says "What we worry about can be broken down as follows; Things that never/will never happen-40%,things past-30%,needless worry about our health12%,petty miscellaneous worries-10%,real&legitimate worries-8%.
It is funny how we Worry over irrelevant things.WHY?
1.Because we are under pressure about situations.
2.Because we think we are yet to reach our goals.
Funny enough most of out thinking are not real. Because "10% of people think, 60%think they think,30% don't think at all" and this mistaken thinking and it fear causes worry.
Most times we mistake e
worry for concern. NO! They are different. Someone who is worried is under pressure about the situation. But the situation is not the problem again but worry itself. WHILE. Someone who is concerned looks at the situation and uses it as the stimulus to find the solution. Concern leads to problem solving. WHILE. Worry leads to pressure of the mind. Meanwhile those who subject their lives to worry becomes professionals In worrying.They eventually loose their lives and subject their destiny to the whims of fate, forgetting that their destiny is in their hands not Fate's. We should be concerned about our worries for they could destroy the life in Us.
HOW TO OVERCOME WORRY
Be concerned
Be concerned about life.Pythagoras the great Mathematician said "Concern are suppose to drive us into action not depression".
Accept What You Can Not Change;
William James, A Philosopher said; "Be wlling to have it so, acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune" learn to accept the Inevitable.
Be Positive;
Let your mindset to life be positive, let your attitude be positive.Attitude is the way you see things,your response to an event,your behaviour towards it.Your attitude is the mirror through which you see situations and what you mirror in your mind reflects in your life.
Don't be confused;
Herbert. E. Hawkes said "confusion is the chief cause of worry" when a man get confused, he complicates issues thereby leading to worry.It is only in analyzing the fact that you can get to the root of the problem only then can you overcome worry.
Act What You Can;
"The secret of happiness is to learn to accept the impossible, to do without the indispensable, and to bear the intolerable" Don't be envious of your fellow man it leads to worry. Act what you can. Putting yourself positively into action, get your mind off worry
Control Your Mood;
No matter how griveous they are; They are neutral. It is our reaction that gives these events their significance. No matter how bad a situation might be, remember things will get better.
